A cat with a cup of coffee

Today was a national holiday here in Japan.
It it the last established holiday so far.
It comes from Showa emperor's birthday.

But it has nothing to do with me 'cause I have to work today.
I feel really tired and sleepy.
I wanna get the day off!

By the way, this is a pic of a coffee shop at Yanaka.
Yanaka is famouse for cats.
A cat is also attracted to a cup of coffee.

Cats in the boxes

How cute!

They were so relaxed that they weren't cautious about people.
Most cats at Yanaka were familiar with people.

The foam box looked warm and good place for them to take a rest.

A cat at Yanaka

My wife likes to take cute thing's pic.
There are a lots of cats at Yanaka.

This cat might find out something between the rocks.

It looks so relaxed at a sunny day.

I sometimes think I'd like to be a cat and live a leisured life.
But there may be a unknown hard aspect even in the cat's world.

A temple of Yanaka

This is a temple of Nichiren sect of Buddhism.
Its name is Keiou-ji (Kyoo-ji).

The new government army attacked this temple on 1868 because the temple sheltered some members of revolutionary army Shogitai.

The battle has made its woody gate be scarred by the bullet holes.

There are the winding paths at Yanaka called Hebi-michi.
Hebi-michi means the snake path.

This pic is a bar located at Hebi-michi.
The word Hebi-michi is written on the yellow lantern and two flamingos form the heart mark.

A Sento At Yanaka

Give me some holidays, I've been tired much hum..
I had to work on this Saturday and Sunday.
I know I may be busy right before releasing our software though.

Anyway, this is the pic of Sento.
Sento means Japanese public bath.
Many people take a bath together at a big bath.
I think some people of other countries are not willing to take a bath with strangers or neighbors.
But most Japanese don't care about doing that.

This Sento is rare because it's on the second floor.

This is a Takasyo's house at Yanaka.
Takasyo means falconry, training and using falcons for hunting.

The entrance looks cool.
I wanna go into the house and see how they train falcons.

I found out the introduction of falconry on the internet.
The Japan Falconers Association

Yanaka-Nezu photo

Last Sunday, my wife and I promised that we would walk around Yanaka, Nezu and Sendagi together after I finished my work. (I had to go to work even on Sunday. You can see old Japanese sight at these areas.)

But I had to spend more time to finish my work than I thought.

So my wife enjoyed Yanaka, Nezu alone and took some pictures.
This pic is the one of them, a statue of Buddha of Yanaka.

Japanese cherry

There is a tree of Japanese
cherry called Sakura nearby my condo.
I think most Japanese people feel the night Sakura is cool.
This tree is also beautiful though this pic is little bit vague due to hand movement.

cherry blooms

I've worked over time today.
I'm really tired.
On the way home, I found out cherry blooms were blooming a little bit.
