It is a fancy store sign like Japanese Ukiyoe!

It is a part of the hair salon Tateyama that I introduced in a previous post.

By the way, it has been raining for a few days here in Japan.
It is like that rainy season has come though a usual rainy season is July.
Little bit gloomy.

A shop with a distinct design

What do you think this shop is?
At first, I thought it was a cafe.

"Hair salon Tateyama" is written on the sign board.

Its look is retro and different from current style hair salons.
But it is fancy.

It is located also at Yanaka.

A key shop at Yanaka

This key shop has an appealing sign at the entrance.

You can find it from far away.

A flower shop at Yanaka

I found out that my total overtime work on April was around 100 hours.
That means the average work time per day was around 13 hours.
Oh it sucks! I hate it.
So I ran away from my office today.
But I souldn't complain about my situation right in a recession?

Hmm..
It is a flower shop at Yanaka and has retro-flavored name board , but it is nice.

A tin plate shop at Yanaka

This is a tin plate shop at Yanaka.

The kanji on the windows are Buriki-ten Yoshikawa.
Buriki means tin plate in Japanese.
Buriki seems come from Dutch Blik meaning tin plate.
Yoshikawa may be the name of the shop owner, I think.

The ornament of the entrance is interesting.

A cat with a cup of coffee

Today was a national holiday here in Japan.
It it the last established holiday so far.
It comes from Showa emperor's birthday.

But it has nothing to do with me 'cause I have to work today.
I feel really tired and sleepy.
I wanna get the day off!

By the way, this is a pic of a coffee shop at Yanaka.
Yanaka is famouse for cats.
A cat is also attracted to a cup of coffee.

Hebi-michi at Yanaka

There are the winding paths at Yanaka called Hebi-michi.
Hebi-michi means the snake path.

This pic is a bar located at Hebi-michi.
The word Hebi-michi is written on the yellow lantern and two flamingos form the heart mark.

Tenugui Shop of Yanaka

You can buy various kinds of Tenugui at this shop.
Tenugui is a thin Japanese towel.

The shop's name is Cyoshi-ya.
